more power! 2 Years, 11 Months ago
My '99 Roadie isn't the "California" modle or anything, but I bet there's still some power restricting things in place that are there for cleaner emmissions. Anyone know some good mods I can do???

More free flowing air cleaner, port your manifold, some pipes and rejet. A 99 could use a 1700 ignition module to up the rev limit.

Is a rev limit necisarry or can it be done away with all togiether? That is one thing that I have always been disapointed with on this bike.

If you don't mind trashing your motor you don't need a rev limiter. Get a Dyna 3000 and set the limiter to 5000.

There is no need to spin them that fast. These engines are not like "rice racers". Our motors run out of air much lower in the RPM range. Think of them as a John Deere, not a Formula 1.

a dynojet revmaster will lift the revs from 4200 to 5000 easy to fit it really helps off the line.
