17 Inch Ape Hanger 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Ok I have a 2003 1600 Roadstar and I just got some 17 inch apes. I was wonder what length cable I need to buy? I keep hearing plus 10 or plus 12 hate to spend good money on something to short or way to long. Also any advice on where to get them from I have seen Phat Performance parts any other sites? Thanks in advice.

16" apes use 10" overlength cables, so I would use +11" for 17" apes. The price of overlength cables is a flat price up to +12". The price for the break line does matter on the length. The major consideration is do you want black vinyl or stainless steel braid.

If you want black they are $24.65 each for the throttle and $37.70 for the clutch. For stainless it is $44.55 each for the throttle and $53.00 for the clutch. Theese prices are + shipping. Barnett does not keep cables in stockm they are made to order. Barnett will not dropship, when I place an order they ship it to me and then I have to reship it to you.

The prices I gave you are not the list price. I have an account with them and the price I gave you is my cost plus ten percent. Unfortunately they will not dropship; so they ship it to me and I have to resend it to you. That makes for extra cost and extra time but we are stuck with it.

THE PRICES FOR THE CABLES ARE GOOD, BUT WHERE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND GETTING THE BRAKE LINES FROM, AND WOULD YOU GO PLUS 11" ON THOSE AS WELL?
THANKS

I can take care of the brake line also. The factory line is one piece with the end fittings swaged to the hose. What I get is a hose with threaded nuts on the ends and end fittings that are threaded to hook up to the hose. Are you interested in bllack or stainless?

I HAVENT DECIDED YET, PROBABLY CHROME, BUT MY BARS ARE BLACK SO I MAY JUST GO BLACK TO KEEP THEM LESS OBVIOUS. THE OFF SET OF THE CHROM WOULD PROBABLY LOOK PRETTY GOOD AGAINST THE BLACK BARS THOUGH.
WHAT WOULD BE THE ROUGH PRICE ON THE BRAKE LINES?

THANKS
