I have an old Honda motor on a fence post pounder that frequently gets SVS from not working hard enough and then sitting around to much. It only idles when it is running the hydraulics on the post pounder. I give a good flooding with Sea-Foam "Deep-Creep" spray, run it a bit, and then change out the BLACKENED engine oil. Seems to do the trick.
I think around these parts, these air-cooled motors run too cold, and never really get hot enough to burn all that carbon crap out.
