I agree... just sound and feel. Doesn't matter what the speed is... if it feels right, I leave it... if it needs one more, one less... I shift there. They talk to you all the time... but not like the wife, so you listen!

1st - reve limiter
2nd rev limiter
and so on.....

I found out yesterday that I hit the limiter at 85 in fourth. Made me smile.

These big girls hate to be lugged. I shift by the sound of the engine through the first three gears and I'll leave it in fourth up to about 55. After that, it's between fifth and fourth, depending on whether I need a little extra torque or not.

You probably are lugging. Just shift down one and run her up a little more before you shift. Find the "sweet spot."

It will take a little getting used to. After a while, you will know what she likes...and at what temperature, too!
