I don't know what to think...Ride a 07 with 8900 miles on it.got it new last june. I just switched to Royal Purple oil and then went to a shell gas station to fill up tried the new Nitrogen Enriched fuel and I went from 38 mpg to 53 mpg. I couldn't belive it so I went back to same station and even used same pump got 51 mpg.went back a third time and got 53 mpg. my riding hasn't changed still going to same places same speed and same everything. so what do all the experts on here think is the reason for much better mpg..I also use a little Sea Foam in every tank full ,but I have all ways done that...

One is the RP oil for sure. I put in iridium plugs abd started getting 52 mpg highway and gained about 2-3 mpg city so they may have made changes in the gas I use Chevron.

is all shell gas nitrogen enriched? or is there a specially labeled pump for it?

All shell I have used it but didn't see any change.

At the shell station I go to the mid grade is enriched and it has a tag on the pump handle.

I don't know why (and I'm not complaining), but the Chevron I go to still doesn't have any ethanol in the gas, according to the owner...and there are no stickers on the pumps. It's worth the few extra cents per gallon to me over budget gas like at Sam's Club.

Been running shell for the last year and can consistantly get 50 per gal if I'm careful...I'm a captive audience tho, its the only pump in town other than marathon...

I've wondered how much different oils affect power, economy?
I dumped the factory-fill 5w30 oil out of my 6.o Liter Chevy and put in 5w30 Full synthetic at 1,300 km.
I could swear it has a little more power. And the economy computer says its getting 2-3 MPG better on the highway with the syn oil. Always use regular grade Co-Op gas in my work trucks.

The new shell gas is supposed to clean out any carbon deposits in an engine.
I can see this new N2-enriched gas really being a benefit to our RoadStar engines, I bet it will work just dandy...
Anytime you can get rid of depsits and reduce your "frictional horsepower" losses in your engine you gain some power and economy.

GM claims that factory-filling their differentials with 75w90 Synthetic (as opposed to 80w90 Dino)
will gain 0.5 miles per gallon better gas mileage in a pickup truck. Especially in cold climates like we have here.

of course oil can better your gas mileage..that is why some are labeled "energy conserving"
