"smoke cumming from under the seat and left side cover"

Do you have the crank case vent hose re-routed?

There is another K&N that fits and does not require the bolts in the intake area and all that is needed to mount it up is a 1/2 round smashed aluminum pipe top hole to top hole. I can post pics and how to if Fireman authorizes it as I stole the idea from him.

I have two of the round k&N from the Mr C how to. Anyone wanna buy em?

OH! I would take tank off an plugs out and fish around with a magnet on a stick, ya know what they call that? You might get lucky. If it comes out do a compression check if both cylinders are close, run her!

Thanks, guys the boke os going in the shop today, I've done enough damge already my mechanic is going to try to go in st the sparl=k plug holes first if no luck there then he will remove the heads and go from there.

Musky, yes I had the vent hose ran right underneath the filter unrestricted. My mechanic thinks that the nut ended up on top of a piston or under a exhuast valve.

Sorry for all the typos, I've been working 7-days a week and can't find time to do nothing 10.5 -12.hrs shifts also we got new product coming out and we are 6-weeks behind schedule.

Had a 2.5hr window Saturday so I thought I would install the K+N been wanting to do it for months ! I made a stupid mistake and it's gonna end up being a costly one also.

The thought of installing lock nuts and putting them on the outside crossed my mind... wish I had did it, too late now.

It will be a hard lesson learned it's like my wife said the roady isn't a cheap dirt bike that you can try to repair or install things own and if things get screwed up it cost big buck $$$ to fix.

Hey, MS1700 if you have the k+n filter mounting pics please post them.

Fireman, if you have any of how you did your's I would appreciate them also after all seeing the one on your bike is really what put the fever in me to get one on mine < It's your fault dude!! :laugh

As I said earlier the bike went to the shop this afternoon and I will let all of you know how bad the damage is hopefully by the end of the week.

Rich, I'll tell ya it felt like I was kicked in the nuts when I heard the ping! ping! I felt sick for a while and its not over yet, when my mechanic calls with the damage report I already told him make sure I'm seetting down.

Hey, Musky ,Curt, Doc, BB all you guys that know motors will it ever be the same after the works done inside ? I have a lot of confidence in my mechanic he's been building drag bikes for 15.yr's and has good business with used bikes of all kinds I don't trust any of the dealers in the area.
