I have a hunting camp near Elizabathtown NY that my family and I will be visiting the last 2 weeks of July. I had planned on trailering my bike up, do I need to be worried about not having stock exhaust while I'm riding around up there? Maybe I should throw my stock exhaust on for the trip. I love the Mountains of the High peaks region of the Aderondaks, the roads are great, the rides are perfect. I have been going there since I was 4 years old, and a few years ago purchased the camp from my Aunt. The taxes have more then tripled in the last 5 years, now they are going to take my money for have a non-stock exhaust? If the area was not so beautiful and my family did not love it so much I would sell the place and find something in a more freindly state.
Honestly I wouldn't worry about it. I have the short shots and ride in the rondacks a lot.
The checkpoints seem to be aimed more at the events and and places large groups of riders will be, remember they have to be cost effective.
I've been through Elizabeth town many times.
I like to get on 9 going out of Lake George and just ride north till I'm near the border.
