The speculators are back at it ! these guys wrecked the economy < my opinion and I guess their gonna do it again.

How can we stop these guys ? Can congress do it by passing a bill of some kind ? We are just begining to see some releif in the economy and now were heading in the wrong direction again.

This hits me hard as my wife drives 116 miles a day round trip to work.
Her car gets 34.mpg thank god!

Everbodys gotta make a buck to survive but I just couldn't be a part of something that was hurting so many people and wrecking the economy at the same time.

We all know that the price of all things pretty much follows the price of a gallon of gas.

Im in michigan 2.89 today a friend in alabama today said prices were 2.41 there!As hard hit on job's as michigan is and there still gougeing!!

It's all about money which is power. More $ = more control. Thanks to these most generous (with our money) people I can touch my toes again (while assuming the position). Some things ya just learn to live with.

There's a weird mood among a lot of people happening...A LOT people are not happy, in either political party. I heard twice today there's various groups, including some in the senate, that are trying to organize a boycott of paying part of your income tax this year. I doubt it will happen, but it would be interesting to see... Hit them where they hit us!

15 miles from me gas is an average 10cents cheaper.

in march it was 1.87 and was around that back to november aswell as all the way to miami. (i rode around south fl the month of febuary)

Guys, guys, hate to dissappoint you, but gasoline is a mere commodity, and the price of any commodity is based on supply and demand, and there's huge competition among producers of it... it is as cheap as it can be under present circumstances.

Here are the present circumstances: Demand has been creeping back up some as the Summer driving season is now upon us, but, as one who works in the realm of investment, I can tell you the real reason gas is rising so far, so fast, has everything to do with excessive govt spending, the huge run-up in the govt spending deficit in relation to its tax take income, resulting in the massive creation of new "money" to pay its bills, which always results in inflation.

Gas prices are inflating because, all around the world, oil, and its products, such as gasoline, are denominated in US dollars, but there are now so many "new" US dollars being flooded unto the world economy by our govt, they are devaluing all the other $ that were already in existence, hence inflation, the requirement of more dollars to pay for the same amount of product or service.

What you are experiencing is the beginning of the massive inflation we are all going to experience in the price of everything going forward. It is now unavoidable.

Our beloved President has already caused the spending, expansion of govt, and the explosion of the budget deficit to exceed that of all the previous presidents combined.

Don't believe me if you don't want to, but just watch what happens to the price of gold as the confirmation of all I have just stated above.

Oh, and let me just add... the speculators are only doing what they do because they have seen the handwriting on the wall. They know the inflation is beginning, so they are buying up the oil and gas contracts on the futures markets, pushing the prices higher, because they believe that they will profit from buying and holding those contracts... or, in other words, they believe the prices are going higher still.

With the creation of literally trillions of new dollars in recent months, which will be entering the economic system, going forward, over the next couple of years or so, how could they possibly be wrong???

well, i say we stop backing down to the eviromentlist and start drilling more in our own country amd offshore

You got that right... we have enough oil right here to be self-supportive, if only the environmentalists and the liberal Dems they own would let us drill here.
