ME880 tires 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Since I put the ME880s on my bike, the first 10 miles or so the bike handles rough. It feels like I am fighting it, but after 10 or 15 miles it settles down and handles like it should, nice and easy. Do these tires have to warm up first?

Zim,
The Metz should be fine from the git-go. Any tire gets better when it warms up. Just like auto tires in the winter. Rough ride until the get warmed up. I have never noticed it on my Metz and I have been running this pair for over 8000 miles.

Check your air pressure. Go by the numbers on the tire not the book. Metzler is very particular. You can add about 2 pounds when carrying a passenger, but not always necessary. Depends on the size of the passenger.

Normally these tires make the Roadstar handle like it is 100 pounds lighter and corner a lot better.

Give them a chance and if they don't get any better, talk to your dealer.

I am on my second set of MME 880's and there is a bit of a break in. I ride very carefully till the tires get warmed up then find a remote curvy road to ride on going slow and weaving back and forth to break the slickness off of them. Then I ride it like I stole it.
