If the bike ride nice and smooth don't mess with the spring setting. The OEM spring is black if it has another color spring then they have added a stiffer spring. There are a lot of ways to lower the rear end, Barons lowering kit (link) or adjustable dog bones, and the old flip and grind. Do a search and you will find all sorts of examples and picture too. Once you have seen them you can check the bike and find out if and how it was lowered. The OEM spring adjutments are:
minimum (soft) 1.67in 42.5mm
standard 16A 1.67in 42.5mm
16AT 1.79in 45.5mm
Maximum (hard) 2.02in 51.5mm
I am 5'8" 165 lbs and I have mine set at minimum and the ride is real good for me one up.

My Boards dragged more than I thought was normal so i tightened the spring a few turns and made sure I was rolling the throttle on through the turns. Almost eliminated the dragging. I recently put new rubber on and went with a 160 rear and haven't dragged boards since.

Guys, I appreciate the information, the problem is NOT that I want it lowered! IT NEEDS raised, I am dragging the footboards, I don't know how this turned into people thinking I want to lower the bike..I need to take it up about 1 inch so I can stop dragging, thats it. Thanks. J

look in the tech articles section for floorboard extenders. i believe they show aprint for making/ drilling them. queston, could WIDER stock be used & raise the "extended" bolt patern ? i leave this idea to the experts to discuss

I don't think people are trying to tell you how to lower your bike. They are referencing the numerous ways a bike may be lowered so when you inspect tomorrow you will recognize that your bike is lowered or not. Whether or not the bike is in stock form or lowered would dictate how best to "raise your bike".

ultrastar made some brackets to move the floor boards up and back a little there are a few different ones his bike is an 03 the frame mounts for the boards are different than my 2000. what year is your bike? if these will fit your r* then you can have them i would just need you to cover the shipping im on disability and poor lol
there are a few different brackets some move the boards up and some will tip the toe end up a little as well as a couple to use as spacers...
