A couple of my friends I ride with ( loosely worded ) are HD owners and handed me a few comments when I bought my R* ...... " You'll get there one day ....... Not a HD but it will do I guess ..... Wanna be.... " were a few of the comments that i took ...... cocky as I am, always had a comeback for them, but the one,s that got the most attention were " Ya but I'm not a fair weather driver such as yourself " and the one that got the best looks was " Ya ......but it's PAID for " ..... keep the shiny side up and get on the road folks ......

I can't remember where I read this but tell them, "95% of all Harleys ever built are still on the road, the other 5% made it home" That's not brand bashing..... it the law of averages!

My answer is, "I have one." No argument, no need to elaborate. You know what you have and that's all that counts. No matter what you have or do, you will have friends who will try to make you feel they know better. Sometimes they do, but most times they don't. You have a real bike my friend. Never doubt that.

I went with my brother-in-law last week to the local Harley dealership to see about getting some work done on his bike and the service mgr. said flat out that he would never admit it to anyone and would never ride anything other than a Harley. But he said I was far ahead of the game by riding the R*. He said he hoped Harley would catch up with Yamaha in the future.

They will, they have slowly been putting metric parts on them for awhile. However their owners don't want to discuss that with you when it is brought up for discussion. Lone*Road* (LoneStar RoadStar)

my step dad has been riding for well over 40 years, most of his family road with M/C's. He has always told me that "real bikers" could give a crap less what you ride, just so long as you ride.

You will find that for the most part its the RUBS that talk crap, the guys that only ride fair weather weekends and play dress up.....do you really care what they have to say???

I'm also on a forum with mostly patch holders...Someone posted something up about "some fool" trying to sell a customised vulkin (or something like that).

He quickly got a lashing from a patch holder of a major club, went something like:
Hey, we don't bash other peoples rides, what he chooses to ride is his choice, some of us love our bikes, like they're one of our kids, and if you have half a brain, you don't talk crap about someones kid.
