Maxair Engineering... aren't I lucky? 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Well, as I mentioned in a previous post last week some unknown idiot where I work screwed around with my Maxair PMS screw and I lost it on the ride home one day. That night I went online and ordered a new one. As soon as the order goes through I get a popup about the company closing for almost 2 weeks for their yearly ride. Of course I emailed and told them that if it wasn't going to be shipped until AFTER the ride then to cancel and I would order from another company. "No problem; part is shipped."
I get the box today and open it to find a pair of VStar PMS screws. I guess they were all in such a hurry to leave that they weren't paying attention. So I'm screwed for another 2 weeks.
I did find my original screw but I'm missing a washer and the o-ring doesn't look good. Tried to make a washer with a #4 washer and grinding it down with the Dremel but I can't go small enough.

That stinks! I would just buy the Barons' PMS screw I have it and it works good and they have it in stock.

That's my next step. I emailed and just got a reply from the owner. Nothing can be done till they are back on the 29th. I'll be ordering from Baron's I guess.

As far as I know The Barons screw doesn't come with the O ring or washer. Might have changed.

I think you may be right Musky.
I have a Baron's sitting in front of me still in the original package.
I see the screw and inside the directions I can see the screw and drill bit to get the stock screw cover off, but no washer or o ring.

That Musky... he is seldom wrong!

I believe that my Barron's PMS screw just screwed into the housing with out a washer or o ring. So stick the old screw in and see how it works, as long as the needle point is not damaged I would give it a try, why not??

LoL Glad I posted on here. I would probably be on the 6:00 news if I had ordered and waited on a Barons and then no o-ring, spring or washer! My only choice is wait on the MaxAir so I guess I'll just try the stock one with just the spring and o-ring. If I can take the heat...
It was 101 degrees in the garage with the door up Sunday and feels about the same today.

If I remember I had to use the stock spring and washer on the Barons PMS screw.

Well, I have the stock screw in with the spring and o-ring and it's doing fine. I guess the washer is just for extra support for the o-ring.
