CONVERT? 7 Years, 1 Month ago
My Shop Manager rides a Dyna Glide. Very nice bike … well, was and may be again. He had it parked in the drive way next to his daughters car and a drunk came up on the lawn and hit her car so hard it knocked it into his bike and knocked over his bike and did a bit of 5 grand of damage. To his credit, he did not kill the guy (with a .28 BAC) even tho he tried to run.

Well, today we have a few “emergencies” going on and we need to pick up some rotor hammer drill bits up in Sacramento (we are in Rio Vista – so a NICE putt up 160 along the river and today is just PERFECT weather for a ride). I tossed him my key and said “You been looking pretty down the last few weeks since your bike got hit, take a ride up to pick up those bits for us”. The look on his face was first shock, then a huge grin so I had to add “Yeah, it is a metric, so don’t wear your colors.”

He just pulled away. Can’t wait for him to get back and tell me what he thinks. I just hope he does short shift it the whole way like he did leaving.

I am betting that he will be impressed with the torque at the very least.

The Dyna is a nice bike, and if he is a hardcore HD guy he may not make it past the image thing.

But he won't forget this ride

Says I have a lot more low end, but his top end is better (not surprised, I have a smaller main jet in than most on the MAXAIR and may bump it back up to 190 or 195 plus those big pipes) and that the bike builds very smooth and consistent power all the way to 5 grand. But says he has never riden a bike that handles like mine. The river road begs for some leaning and he came back saying that as fast as he was riding, he could not figure out how I drag my floorboards as much as I do. He was impressed and has a great grin on his face ... hope he gets his bike fixed soon so we can go riding.
