Hi guys, I know i have seen this thread before but i cannot find it. Riding today i discovered a sound or metallic rattle (maybe becouse i was not wearing a helmet) up around the light/passing lamps when i got up to 65 mph or higher. I stopped and went over the complete front end looking for something that was loose, windshield, light, passing lamps, everything and i could not find anything. When i got home i checked everything again and still everything seems to be tight to the bike and so on. I thought there was a thread saying it is the headlight cover. If anybody could tell me where the post is or if they had a similar problem and how they corrected it i would greatly appreciate it. thanks be safe kroyleahcim

Next time you hear it, reach out and touch the headlight bucket. If the noise stops ... bingo.

Thanks Doc. When i go for my sunday morning ride I'll do that which i should have done today but i knew it was a minor thing so i just decided to enjoy the day with my wife and not worry about things.

I'm surprised that you could hear the rattle with your wife on the back .. I could not have.

You know i have been married twenty years and when she is on the bike she is quiet as a church mouse. We just enjoy the time.  |

I had a rattle inside my headlight housing. I padded the connectors and no more rattle. Two minute job.
