AIS removal on a 2008 / EFI 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Just got the AIS removal kit from Baron's and I think they sent me the wrong unit. It came with two round bullet shaped plugs and a drift-pin. Looking at the instructions, it appears these plugs will not work on my engine. Has anyone done the AIS removal on an '08 star? I sure would like some expert information before I tear into this thing. Thanks.

That doesn't sound right...

Should be two covers to fill the holes where the AIS tubing is removed from the sides of the motor. And, probably a little rubber intake plug that we don't need on FI models.

Edit - I just went to the Barons site and went through the 08-09 Roadie stuff and didn't even see an AIS kit.

Yeah, I did a bad thing: I relied on a dealer to order what I wanted. I guess I'll never learn. Well, guess I will try to return what I have and tell them exactly what I need. thanks.

All it did for me as to remove about 10 pounds of ugly black stuff that was cluttering up my pride and joy.

If you now change to an aftermarket exhaust, you've simply eliminated the "Flame Thrower" stage...

Looks better with it removed, too...
