I'd bet you can use a clay bar and BlackHawk to get it off the windshield. I know it works on glass.

I think this bears repeating ...

The Silverado windshield has a coating on the front side. Anything physical you do to remove paint will remove the coating. I have yet found a chemical solution that will work without potentially removing the coating or fogging the windshield. If you know of one (no guessing please ) I would be happy to know of it 'cause I have some overspray on the lower part of mine that I would like to remove (I had it covered in the garage when I was painting but one edge was not completely covered )

If your windshield is bad anyways, then you can remove the coating and use plastic polishing compound to buff it up.

Just duke it out with someone's insurance for a new one!!! Either the 'painter' or the storage yard business... someone's liable and owes you big time!

Oh, and may I add... take lots of pictures, secure an attorney, and let everyone involved know that you intend to make a really big stink if you don't get some immendiate satisfaction... as they'll have to secure attorneys to defend themselves, or run from judgments against them... (which a lot of folks do, by the way).

You can try to use 3M General Purpose Adhisive Cleaner...it's for removing light overspray, sticker residue and other items without damaging surface. I've used it on my windshield before to remove overspray without any harm (BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT...please test in an inconspicuous area first!!!)
Here is the link for the info
Link: 3M 08987
Some hardware and/or autopart stores carry this product. Comes in aerosol or non aerosol cans. I use the spray can. Was first introduced to the product when I worked at a dealership years ago and found that it works well for removing idiot overspray on incoming trades. Still use it to this day on my cars and bike for getting road tar off .

I tested the 3M on both OEM and aftermarket windshield and had no negative effects. To avoid smear marks always use the clean side of a soft white terry cloth...
BTW: My local Ace Hardware stocks this stuff...might want to check you local stores.

No Ace here but I'll check my local autobody supply shop ... he usually carries the 'unusual' stuff.

Thanks again.

Id still be careful, the msds says it's about half lighter fluid. and half xylene, with a few extra goodies thrown in for good measure...

Unbelievable. Some people have like 2 brain cells. I would absolutely get some kind of re-imbursement from the storage place. That will be a major PITA to get all of that off. That sucks man, hope it works out.

I'm with you, Life... talk tough, threaten legal action, demand immediate satisfaction in cash... and follow up with a letter from your favorite Esquire!

If they think you really will cause them pain they'd really rather not have to deal with... they'll usually pony up. It works best when the bike is right before their eyes in good light, so that even they have to go... "OW"!
