I've used Metz on 2 different bikes for a total of 150k miles in 6.5yrs. Both bikes rear got 15 to 16k @ 42psi (10 tires),
front on 1100ACE aprox 21k @ 40psi Roadie Front 29k @40psi. I don't even look to see where they are made. I've only had 1 front tire cup, but that was because I didn't check pressure for quite some time, and when I did, it was down to 34psi. I would think with the amount of tires I've gone thru, my odds of a defective tire are much, much higher, then most riders, and I've never had an issue. And I've just read recently about a few Avons that have had issues. Nothing made today that comes off a conveyor belt is going to be 100% perfect to 100% of quantity made. But of course, with only 2 tires on the road, thats the last thing you want to be defective.
