Anybody own a Ultra Classic...?? 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Renting a HD Ultra Classic next week for a three day trip. Never rode one before, wondering your thoughts. I see tons of them on the road, they look like they handle like a tank, but I have seen guys much smaller than I move those things around like a go-cart. Thanks Guys.

If it's a 2009 it handles like a bike half it's weight, you can throw it around with ease and tracks like it's on rails. Much better at all speeds than the Roadie and smooth as silk, but that's just my opinion.

I recommend not renting one, it'll seriously make you want to buy one. Especially if a lady friend is on the back.

hahaha, that is EXACTLY my fear. She is never not with me on my bike now, though it is comfortable riding 2 up on the rodie and my v-star, I know this is going to blow that out of the water. I think I can end the "we got to buy one" conversation with one word...........price tag. I almost dribbled when I saw it. Nice looking bike though.

I have the 08 and it handles great. They are a comfortable bike very nice on the highway. Different kind of ride from the Roadie. Two different kinds of bikes, both great in doing what they are designed to do. Have fun.

I tried to rent one last week when I was up in Indiana but the HD dealer in Muncie didn't rent bikes. I test drove one in Orlando a month or so ago and it seemed really easy to handle. Probably just as well since I still have two in college for another year. I do have room for another bike in the garage though. However, I think I would need that space for the bed I would be sleeping on if I bought it

My local dealers have suspended their rental programs. What's up with that? By the same token, my Yamaha dealer has started pushing test rides on the Strats and Roadliners and is offering deep discounts on those too.

Strange, when I went into HD to rent there was three that came in when I was there for the same thing. I surely wouldn't think it was from lack of demand or interest. Maybe liability or they got burned by somebody.
