Passenger floorboards - be sure to lubricate 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I picked up a set of used OEM passenger floorboards, seller claimed that one side didn't stay up. When I got them, I see that what keeps them locked in the up or down position is a small ball bearing that's spring loaded from behind it. The metal directly above the ball bearing was broken off, apparently as a result of excessive pressure when lowering the floorboard...the other side has a stress crack in the same place as well. Note: If this happens, your floorboard will bounce around over bumps riding one-up.

I replaced the ball bearing, and it stays there as long as it's locked/down, which is all I need (until someone inadvertently flips it up one day). Hoping to save some of you the trouble.
