I was thinking of trying the left hand drill bit but kept leaning toward the easy-out. I will try the left hand drill bits. The bolt was not broken by over tightening or trying to remove so, my way of thinking, it should come out fairly easy.

Is the head steel or aluminum where the bolt is?? How dangerous would it be to apply heat??

Thanks for the help.
I will let you know the outcome next week.

localised heat is no probs [heads are ally] just waft the torch around a bit, bring it up to temp slowly
if using a dril, always centr-punch the stud first, and hit it hard! this will keep your drill-bit central for the start, and 'shock' the threads.......remember, the threads [when origionally tightened] were all leaning-out.......that is to say the stud was being pulled outward from the engine by the very nature of it being tightened againt the header-flange.........by giving it a good whack with the hammer-punch you'll be 'releasing' the outward bias and this in itself can help the stud come right out when the reverse-drill-bit 'bites'
