Any 1100 V Star guys here? 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Hey, 1st post. Ive been surfing the Yamaha forums looking for information on 1100 V Stars. Im a VTX guy myself, but my girl rides an 1100 Silverado and I need some info.

Her bike is an 06 1100 Silverado. The bike is to manly for her, she wants a new 950, but her 1100 is almost paid for and is in really nice condition. My plan is to do a makeover this winter and get a few more years out of it before the itch for something new comes along again.

Her first bike was a 650 Custom, she loved the bobbed fenders and the side mount plate. Will Custom fenders fit on a Classic? Im guessing the frames are the same but the forks are different. I like the look of the spoke wheels, but we like tubeless tires so I want to keep the Classic wheels.

Any help would be appreceated.

If she loved her 650 Custom... step up to the 1100 Custom. I have one alongside my R*, and like them both for entirely different reasons. The 1100 Custom is plenty low and sufficiently light that she'll probably love it, too!

I am pretty sure the frames are the same and probally the forks just with out the covers. The 650's are nice but not as smooth as the 1100. I had an 1100 before I got my Roady it was totaled by a guy turning left. and The only reason I got the Roady was there are more parts for it and I like the way it looks better. The 1100 will walk away from a Roady at least in a stock condition. My wife wants an 1100 that is her dream bike. You can also try getting different fenders or what not if money is a factor new tins are cheaper than a whole bike.
