GEEEEEZ! Now you come up with this! LOL!! I just went through all this with my 2000 Road Star... because of the low output of the 99-04 stator and rec/reg, I went to the 05 and up stuff... it works alot better than the previous years, but it still really lacks in overall output... for those of us that like our electrical goodies, Yamaha did a very poor job in this area... If you came up with a stator and rec/reg that gave us major output, you would have a gold mine in just the Road Star's... just for instance, all the guys putting HD fairings and stereos and upgraded lights...
I just want to thank you for taking the time to come to the people and get the opinions of those that actually have a need for what you make... I would definitely be interested in another "upgrade" from what I just put in my bike... Just by you taking that extra time out of your busy work schedule means a lot to me and I am sure it will mean a lot in your future at Electrosport... I will be keeping an eye and ear out for what you come up with...
Oh, I am also a service adivsor for a big multi brand powersport dealership and items such as this are really needed in the metric world
Thanks again
Tony

Evan,
I think something in the 42-45 amp range would be reasonably sufficient to run most accessories one might add. This would offer a sizeable increase in output over the 1700's stator while not being overly difficult to achieve. Of course, with such an increase in output a specific regulator would be needed as the stock regulator for the 1700's is only rated at 35 amps.
The next question though is whether the stock wiring between the stator, regulator and battery is sufficient to handle that amount of current.

Hi guys.
Thank you all very much for the input and info.
I have right now my new test sample of our ESG752 stator.
I'm wondering if any of you guys in the Southern California, and hopefully San Diego/Oceanside area would be interested in testing this part on your bike. I'd really like somebody somewhat local that could bring the bike in here so I can do the install and check out the bike myself. However, if that's not possible I can mail the part out and you provide me testing feedback.
If you're interested, please give me a call at 760-842-8300x308
Thanks!
Evan

I am waiting with anticipation sinse i really need heated gloves.
even when it's in the mid 50*'s i'm loosing the circulation on my right hand first 2 fingers and tthey are white from the knuckle up and feel numb like ive been running a chainsaw. i have to get inside and run warm watter over them to bring the color (and feeling) back.
a 42-45AHr generator should be adequate inorder to add on the current draw required for almost anything but we do understand the limitations of what can physically fit in there for a stator coil pack aswell as having to live with the stock magnet's.
there are a lot of things that could be changed to get more power out of the factory generator but one of them that nobody has concidered strictly for running heating elements in cold weather gear is a higher voltage output. if you can engineer a sepperate tap out of the regulator and get us an 18V AC supply OR engineer a unit that would both compliment the existing wiring limitations aswell as provide a secondary power source, that would also be a good alternative.

Yeah, I'm anxiously awaiting for this to be finalized and available to the masses.

Hey guys,
Yes the ESG752 stator is out to be tested.
I will report back with results as soon as I have them.
