Maintenance Reminder 2 Years, 10 Months ago
This should go without saying, but make sure to visually inspect items such as brake pads, etc... on a regular basis.

Through no one's fault but my own I'm needing to replace my rear brake rotor for the simple reason that I neglected to visually inspect my pads. Not making excuses, but I either didn't hear the warning sounds (if there were any) before it was too late or there simply isn't any warning, like with a car/truck where there are wear indicators. Seems like one day I had brakes and the next I didn't.

Luckily this has been a lesson learned the expensive way and not a painful way, if ya know what I mean!!!! Coulda been ugly!!!!

I've been riding waaaay too long to have made a bone-headed mistake like this, so unless you've just replaced your brakes, check 'em before your next ride.....

Hey Aaron....

Thanks for the reminder. About how many miles did you have on the old pads by the way?

Thanks....greeny

Greeny,
As much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure of the mileage. All my maintenance records were lost when my computer crashed back in Feb. and I didn't have anything backed up. Another lesson learned the hard way!!!!

I do remember when I replaced them though; Sept. '07, at the same time I replaced the back tire. Replaced the OEMs with EBC Kevlar pads. So they lasted almost two years and I'm guessing about 15,000 (+/-) miles.

replaced mine back in May. I only noticed because I replaced rear tire. There was no pad left.
