Here's a switch RS vs Victory 2 Years, 10 Months ago
I ran into a fellow rider the other day as I was going into a Taco Bell. He was coming out and getting on his Victory Motorcycle. Really a pretty ride! I complemented him on how nice his ride looked.

He told me that if he were a smarter man, he would have bought the Yamaha instead. Curious, I asked him why? He told me how reliable and dependable he thought the Yamaha was compared to all the "Wrenching" he has to do on his Victory.

It really sort of set me back that someone who had spent soo much on a beautiful bike would say that he wished he hadn't.

Without bashing any brands, has anyone else had a similar experience?

I had virtually the same conversation with the owner of a Suzuki C90...he wished he had looked at the Roadstar closer but he bought based on price.

I talked with a guy who bought a hot looking Indian (see link) and he's had nothing but trouble with it. It's really kinda sad because it is a mouth-wateringly beautiful ride.

Thats strange cuz we have a Victory Dealer here in Springfield, Mo. and I spend alot of time there, and talking with the mechs. and owners and the Victory's are rarely in for sevice. In fact, one of the owners told me, if it were not for the sevicing of other brands, the dealership most likely would not have servived in this economy. They also sell Big Dogs, but service all brands of m/c.

I rode one a while back down at Arlen Ness' place and loved the victory. i inquired to a few of the hands what they thought and basic reply was they are real solid.

Universe's largest Victory dealer is just up the road, 6 miles from me... in Foxboro, MA. I've ridden a couple of them. Much to like about them, but I'm still no fan of their looks, even after Ness got his hand them. I prefer an R* everytime... they just look right!

I like the look of the overall bike, but the motor is kind of funny looking to me. The cans seem real tall.

How much do they go for?

Was talking to the Victory dealer in Prince George BC who said that in the 6 years of being a dealer they have had very few warranty services on the bikes and nothing on the major end such as motor, trans and such. Really liked the looks of the bikes myself...except for Arlen Ness touring bike. Looks like something that should be on Star Trek

My only complaint was the jugs arent really round, kind of square and they do look kind of odd. For sure the Arlen touring model is weird but so is the stock touring, he just made it more colorful!
Go easy on Arlen, I suspect Victory is writing him some nice checks plus he let me ride one of his Victory's!

No shots against Arlen, I truly do respect him for who he is and what he's done. Just think that this bike is a "little" too futuristic .

I also think it's tough to find a factory motor that compares in looks to the R*s.
