Thanks, PapaTom!

I'll check first thing in the morning. Directions read a bit technical, but I'll figure it out.

So, let me try this question... anybody already using a SpeedoHealer know what % to plug in order to correct the speedo from a 33 tooth to a 31, so that I can verify and make the slightest change, if necessary, when I check it against a GPS???

(God, I love this site!!! )

I'll add another question: Where did any of you who use a speedo-calibrator choose to mount yours, and would you say it was the "best" spot... or would have rather placed it somewhere else?

Mine's under the seat. Easy to get to to program and check top speed. As for what %, it depends on how far out of calibration you were/are. Sorry.

Fox,

My question was... what % did you plug in? I just wanted a ready reference starting point, and who knows, your calculation might work perfectly for me too!

Used SpeedoHealer's on-line calculater and calibrated the speedometer and odometer back 11%. That also fatcors out Yami's 5% error, according to them.

Will check it against local police radar set-ups and a hand held GPS unit after a day trip tomorrow.

ok so the pulley swap, i saw a 30 tooth on ebay but thinkin thats
to far off for me as im ok with stock but a little better might be nice
instead of constantly slipping the clutch when i get on it because the
gearing is just to heavy.

I agree, I thought the gearing was too tall. A 30 tooth will require a new belt. Going 31 allows you to keep the stock belt.

I take a day-trip up around Quabbin and back today.

I recently got an Ultimate seat. I've put in the Dyna 3000 and set a 5k rev limit, and now a 31 tooth pulley with a SpeedoHealer... life is so good!

I'm loving this thing more with each new mod. I've done all the breathing mods and the carb rejetting already... got the carb right the first time! Was I ever blessed!

Now... I've still got to learn how to actually post a pic!

Most folks do not need a new belt but the adjusters are almost at the limit and the wheel will be off center in the fender.

Did the trip around Quabbin Resevoir in MA today... 194 miles from my hometown, round trip. Squeezed 3.654 gals in when I returned... 53.1 mpg!!!

With a 31 tooth pulley, I'm at the end of my adjustment.

I did the pulley and belt swap out a long time ago but never installed the speedohealer until last weekend. I bought the speedohealer a few years back so it's the old version without led readout. My speedo was 11.7% off and the speedohealer was easy to install. The directions that came with mine for the RS 01 kind of sucked because it said I may have to cut the red wire and find a 12v switch source. I ignored it and followed the directions that printed out when I did the online calibration.
Worked great. The only complaint I have is the long wire that came with the device. I mounted mine under the side cover next to the fuel filter and had to stuff the excess wire under there. I hated to cut that pretty wire
