I always see the phrase "No problems" I get a kick out of it. Oil "Problems don't typically show for a long time. Then you have such a new and gigantic problem you don't contribute it to the oil but they way you were riding at the time or the conditions.

We can probably take the "White Pages oil study results and used the worst oil with "No Problems" for many years. But only Amsoil has a warranty and would recommend going twice factory recommendation on the change interval. Does any other oil have in print "Use twice manufacturer changer interval." ?? = 8K miles in our case. OR one year. If you ride a lot, it's a deal.

I'll run this Mobile One V Twin out "No Problems" and back to the 8K mile change interval with Amsoil and a nice quiet as can RS be top end while hot, and temps from below freezing to New Orleans traffic jam hot.

I hate the price even for a dealer, especially the filter, and the availability factor but I can't beat it.

But seriously, the oils out there not good for our running gear that we can run "No Problems." is vast.

If I rode around town short trips and Bike nights, Mobile one would do me fine. But I push to both ends of the limits in six directions.

Cleveland Clinic if I need heart surgery, Amsoil If I need a synthetic oil. Who was 1st in synthetics anyways?

Thanks for everyone who's shared their insight.
I've read the Amsoil report...you wouldn't think that the Mobil 1's far off, but MS1700 (and passenger) can hear the difference. The one thing I wish the report had was its characteristics on heat transfer - how much heat can it take on and dissipate in a measured time frame.

BTW - surprised that there's no Royal Purple riders on here who used another synthetic first.

Four quarts is the max you should be putting in anyhow, you're fine there. As for hotter, it's hard to tell if you really are or not without a temp gauge.
