What did I miss?

All I saw was wheelies and stuff, hell I was still doing that by request for pictures at the 2004 Smokeout at the age of 45.


It gets boring after awhile because your really not doing anything new and you know that sooner or later you're going to eat it again, but without the satisfaction of pushing beyond what you've done before.

Now you made me remember a time we pulled in for drinks and gas along the way and my friends were all laughing and poking at me and I had no idea what for until Don told me I almost wrecked a cop going the other way a ways back when he was double taking me going by with my hands behind my head on the passenger seat and my ankles crossed on the gas tank relaxing and steering through my knees. It was a nice mellow stretch of rolling hills, no big deal.

Same thing as a cook chop, chop, chopping next to his fingers (I can't do it!) once you figure it out there really isn't any risk to it.

Arab dude was pretty good, even though he had a damn fine bike to stunt on, he was still good. I have had friends do better on bigger bikes, I never pushed it further than traffic weaving wheel stands while sitting or standing up with a leg out or something while rolling on two though.
I'm not that crazy, or good, whichever way you look at it.

They guy definitely has skills, no debate about that. My only issue is that he's doing this on public roads(not that I care too much since he's in Iran). Watching him weave that bike on just the back wheel defies logic to me. Usually when the bike starts to fishtail like that it's all over but the bleeding.

I'm no swami, but I forsee some pain in his future because you just can't keep that up without a mistake.

He might not ever wreck, or bad enough to make him stop, but he is unfortunately encouraging others via You tube to try it on OUR roads and interstates, and we could lose some of our young and dumb.

I never did it because I saw someone else do it or from peer pressure, I just did it because it was hard kickin adrenalin. I started with bikes when I was 12, pushing beyond what I did the time before and jumpin over shit with a dirt bike and it just never got old.

I vote we let him live. (Crap, all those crummy smileys and not one with a 'thumb up'

Oh I did my share of "Young and Dumb" things too. At my 20 year class reunion, they called me up to the front and I heard someone in the back gasp "Holly S*&%t, he's still alive?" I was doing extreme before it was called extreme!

I don't care what people do for stunts on side roads that are vacant or in area's where no one ELSE will or could get hurt, I worry about the fool who wipes out in front of my daughters mini van when she has her 4 kids in it and she's forced off the road into a telephone poll or another car.

That's what these "Young and Dumb" forget about or think "It won't happen to me" attitude. You and I were lucky!

Unfortunately there are things every generation has to learn for themselves.
