Custom Fenders 2 Years, 10 Months ago
So who here has installed custom fenders, what brand/style did you go with, and how much (if any) modification was required to make it fit?

I really like the style of the Vintage fenders from Baron's, but I've read numerous complaints about Baron's fiberglass parts are pretty shoddy (very thin, wavy as all get out, etc.). Definitely need something that will accept the stock sub-fender frame as I do a lot of 2-up riding, and it needs to be a fuller fender (not bobbed) since I have hardbags and a bobbed fender would just look silly IMO.

Yes :

Front ... Weirmont ... see My Website for info.
Rear .... trailer ... heavily modded with steel and fibreglass.

To run the stock subframe you will have to buy a fender that is the right width and hopefully the same contour .. if not ... need to mod it.

I have a front fender off a fatboy fiberglass and about all I had to do was fill in the original holes I set a few spacers to get the fender off the tire and marked and drilled the hole. the only really diffacult thing was spaceing the front fender center of the tire so you have to make spacers. I made mine out of some plastic spacer i got at ace that was about 3 or 4 in long and cut it to size. West Eagle makes some Harley type fenders for the vstar but I don't know about Roadies you might also try SS customs they have fenders for Roadies

I have fenders from Roadkrome. They are a bit lower and longer than a stock fender. Fit was good and all i did was sand, prime and paint befroe installing. Link to their catalog They are on page 254 at the top.

I'm looking to bob my rear fender but must be able to ride two up. I was looking at Barons but with the reports of so-so quality I'm rethinking it. Anybody here bob the stock rear fender?

I've seen it done.

First take some tape and tape of where you think you want it to check if you like the look.

Already did that and of course can't make up my mind. I actually want it as short as I can go. ALso looking for a right side HORIZONTAL mount license set up with a big LED stop light on it. When I do the fender I am going to rotate my stock sissy bar mount further forward on the fender to get it up closer to the seat (why there is a gap between the seat and bar baffles me. I have a whole big plan but of course it involves juggling about 10 balls at once.

If you can't make up your mind then cut it longer than you like and then keep trimming.

You are probably aware but I think I should point out that the shorter you go the more of a rooster tail you get .... on the back of your jacket.
