What I did to my Road Star was take out the single filament bulb housing and installed a double contact housing. Then I put red 1157 bulbs which can be found on Amazon.com. Then I put stock clear lens all the way around. Stock amber in front is legal in Kentucky no mod there but you can not run rear amber bulbs. I tried leds but the flasher would not work without mods or resisters. So I have red running lights with clear lens and red turns with simple wiring into tail light circut. Also I wired a rely in the starting circuit to disable the headlight, running light when starting. I don't know why Yamaha missed this simple mod in there Road Stars. I think the newer one my have this mod.
Thanks, Andy

Kuryakyn has the red lenses for 10.99. Did mine a few months ago....they are replacements so they fit perfect! I will post pics when I have time. I used the exsisting clear bulbs too. Looks great!
