Have you put a little electrical tape along the rim to see if that does it? BB

I am quite certain there is a thread addressing this question with a large number of suggested solutions.

Well I thought mine was rattling too... Without help I'd never have discovered that it's my front fender trim making the noise. You might check it out unless you don't have trim on the fender, or know exactly where the rattle is...

I had to put a fairing on mine to get rid of the rattle. Well that didn't work when I told that to the wife either. But it did get rid of the dreaded rattle.

Nice.... I think my headlight is rattling as well... maybe I need to tell the wife the same.

Sure enough, that rattle will drive you crazy! I've tried many proposed solutions on RSC, but so far, my approach has solved it! It's been about 4 months now and haven't heard a single rattle. What I ended up doing is getting a 1/8" X 1"X6" piece of flat steel. I placed 2 pencil marks, every 2 inches and then bent the metal slightly at the marks. I drilled a hole dead center that is large enough to allow the bolt on the inside of the light to go through. (the one towards the front on the bottome of the headlight bowl). I put some rubber compound on the outter 2 inches of the metal. When you screw the metal in place, it should put some pressure on both sides of the headlight bowl. Not a lot! When I placed mine in place prior to tightening the bolt, the ends of the metal would touch the bowl, leaving about 1/4 inch gap between the metal and where the bolt would go. Thightening the bolt will pull the center of the metal down and, in turn, put pressure on the sides of the headlight bowl. Reinstall the headlight, it might take a little force to do so, but that would be expected because the metal will change the roundness a little. This isn't a problem because once you put the headlight hood back on, all is looking good. I've done this to 5 bikes so far and none of them have experienced the rattle again. Good luck and let me know how it goes

So far so good.... I put nylon or plastic washers under the heads of the screws and on the ends of the springs on the headlight adjustment assembly. Also lightly greased the springs. Mine was sort of a metal on metal squeaky rattle. Takes some patience working with the small parts with big fingers but I haven't had the noise since and the fix didn't cost a lot. Worth a try.
