That might be so, but have you looked in the mirror lately?? I bet you look like an air-brake, and you are not nearly so aerodynamic as that fairing. Every take a long ride, you can get beat up pretty bad, and if you have a love bug season like we do down in Fla, you are going to really appreciate it

The leather ones do catch the wind like a sail. But it keeps you warmer on those cold days and drier when it's raining.

Hey slothy
My lower fairings don't seem to catch any more air than my legs or saddle bags do.
I think the main problem with them is they let a lot of wind up between them and the fairing. Hits you right under the chin, and not a good thing in the cooler or wet weather. You need to install a set of Wind Whippers between the upper and lower fairings, and then they are great. Not only keep the wet and cold off, but also the heat in the hottest part of summer.

Oh yea, I usually just have to clean the bugs off the upper and lower fairings. The rest of bike is usually clean when I get there.

They have new after market fairings on ebay for around $200 up, they are bat-wing fairings like the Harley, one of the guys has one in a earlier post, they make them for 6X9, 6.5", and 4X5.25" take your pick, get one, paint it, and install your own stereo and your good to go. I would be Leary of the 6X9 speaker set up Harley has trouble with mounting bracket braking because of the weight and vibration. Just my 2 cents worth.
