tires...a subject that is beat to death!! 3 Months, 1 Week ago
I need a new rear rubber for my 07 Silverado which is a WWW (the original tire is a Dunlop D404 which isn't available in my size with a WWW, so I am told).

My question is, has anyone one ran a Dunlop Cruisemax on the rear with the Original front? I really don't want to buy a new front.....it hardly shows any wear.

thanks in advance for any input.

I am running a Cruise Max WWW on the rear. Stock BS on the front no problems.
Run the air pressure at the upper limit.
Will put a Cruise Max on the front this winter.
The cruise max seems to handle better and it is quiter than the stock tire I thought the stock tire
made alot of noise.
The WWW on the cruise max seems to be harder to clean than the stock tire.
Hope this helps.

i am tryin the cruizemax, on the back ~400 miles sofar.
i noticed this WWW is smaller by a quarter inch than the other dunlop,
the HD branded metric one i just replaced.
there is a great difference in tread depth, 3/32" also
and that just might make the more expensive HD branded tires worth the xtra $

the cruizmax is $118 delivered at denniskirk.com and my dealer
put's em on while i wait on any 'saturday', for $30+tx

pretty much the only thing except get me parts i'll pay them for.

Cruisemax was my first replacement rear too...had a Bridgestone on the front as OEM. Made zero difference to me and I got nearly exactly the same wear (8000 mikes).
Running Avon Venoms now...

My second set of tires were cruiser max and only got 6,000 miles on the back. I am not a hard rider and ride two up about half the time. Have Bridgestones now. They seem to have a harder compound. Dont really know.

Went to the Metzlers and they were so much better than the stockers I can't imagine anything much better!
Tires are like oil, to each his own. I used to run a large fleet of vehicles and I found out pretty quick to never go cheap on tires, ain't worth it. So name your poison on tires or oil but dont cheap out, there is usually no pay off.

Hello all! I have an 03 Siverado LTD with 8500 miles and in need of some new tires. I'm thinking about going with the Metzlers since so many on here recommend them over stock. The stock specs are 130/90 front and 150/80 rear. I've noticed a few on here have put 150/80 on the front and 160/80 on the rear. Are there any big advantages to this? Also, I lowered the bike (dog bone flip and grind) and wondering if this could create clearance issues in the back. Thanks for any and all input.

I have the 160 Metz on the rear and the flip and grind....No problem with clearance but I may change to a progressive spring as I am fully cranked in a still bottom out once and a while..
Fliping makes the shock reach out more so you crank it up and go from a 3 inch drop to a 1.5 inch drop
Cheers
