#217603 olskool (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 85 tires...a subject that is beat to death!! 3 Months, 1 Week ago   I need a new rear rubber for my 07 Silverado which is a WWW (the original tire is a Dunlop D404 which isn't available in my size with a WWW, so I am told). My question is, has anyone one ran a Dunlop Cruisemax on the rear with the Original front? Stock BS on the front no problems. Run the air pressure at the upper limit. Will put a Cruise Max on the front this winter. The cruise max seems to handle better and it is quiter than the stock tire I thought the stock tire made alot of noise. The WWW on the cruise max seems to be harder to clean than the stock tire. Made zero difference to me and I got nearly exactly the same wear (8000 mikes). I am not a hard rider and ride two up about half the time. Have Bridgestones now. They seem to have a harder compound. Tires are like oil, to each his own. I used to run a large fleet of vehicles and I found out pretty quick to never go cheap on tires, ain't worth it. I have an 03 Siverado LTD with 8500 miles and in need of some new tires. I'm thinking about going with the Metzlers since so many on here recommend them over stock. The stock specs are 130/90 front and 150/80 rear. I've noticed a few on here have put 150/80 on the front and 160/80 on the rear. Are there any big advantages to this? Also, I lowered the bike (dog bone flip and grind) and wondering if this could create clearance issues in the back. Fliping makes the shock reach out more so you crank it up and go from a 3 inch drop to a 1.5 inch drop Cheers   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access.
