Next time you have that apart, take some pictures becayse I sure would like to have my HD lowers mounted up along WITH my MS batwing. The Batwing alone is absolutely TERRIBLE at letting a Gigantic Blast of wind right at your mid section. I hate it. Now if I had the HD lowers mounted back up, I might have someting.

Wish you would have taken pics of that install and did a how to on it, but I know how it is when your brain is working overtime on a spur of the moment brainstorm.

I almost started cutting the brackets but I knew something wasn't right with my setup and I figured there would be a return going on and didn't want to hack anything. Now with this blast of air, it's reduced my winter riding significantly and I'm ready to hack! Pictures!

SteveMemphisShades, put this mod on ya all's drawing board, A quick release retaining the factory mount so we can keep our HD lowers.

MS1700, You can install a harley lower on the MS Fairing. All you have to do is buy a little bit longer bolts that secure the locking mechanism and modify your lower so that the holes line up. I have pictures....

BTW, if you don't have these lowers. You can buy them here-----> http://www.jpcycles.com/product/7500110

Hope that helps...

THanks for the pics, I have to go take a look at mine, I think they may be different. I have the quick Release type and nothing goes around the fork. But the pictures help a lot. Thanks for posting them. I still may be able to do something.

Are you talking about the air coming over the tank? I put a set of Memphis Shades lowers on my Road Star that stopped the air from coming over the tank. I was surprised that it worked because my turn signals sticking down from the light bar and the engine guard forced the lowers to be about 10 inches below the fairing, But it stopped the air blast over the tank. We don't really have plans to maintain the OEM windshield bracket so that you can attach HD lowers But we are working on better(larger)lowers. I have some prototype lowers on my bike with a cutout to allow turn to full lock and clear the engine guard. They even clear my desert dawgs that I put on when riding in the rain. If there are any wind issues with the Batwing on a Road Star I plan on solving them.

Yep it's right over the tank and a blast in the mid section. I have your Lowers on the Batwing. No idea if they do anything as I have always had them on. But I get way way way more wind with the Fairing than I did with the stock set up, Silverado WS. And more than than I did with the HD lowers. I still have not figured out if I can mount my HD lowers like he picture above or not. Someone has already tried the ones with a built in vent on the lowers and no workie.
