That's my point. You shouldn't have to fool with it once you got your personal sweet spot!

I haven't found that sweet spot yet. I guess once I find it I can flip the shock and put the inlet & valve on top.

By the way Paul... I'm going to look like an idiot!

That 4 turns rule of thumb... that works for most of our shocks - EXCEPT THE R*!!!!

it turns out of all the Mono shocks we do, we put in a smaller Rebound Control Valve than the others. Apparently the way the dog bones are set up in an R* help it perform differently than the other mono shocks we make and cause it to be able to use a different size valve. Any way that's what our lead tech told me...

Sorry, didn't know. Beggin' yer pardon!

Glad to hear you found your sweet spot. Fireman asked too, but I'm also curious if you know what you finally got it set at. That'd give me a good starting place.

Nice lookin' bike by the way. The lowered rear end sure give that tire a nice low profile look.

Regards....greeny

NO ...... I can't do it.

First I need to say that my shock is a bit different. The back bracket is custom for my setup so I'm not quite sure how yours will fit.

HOWEVER .... with the suspension completely unloaded, I have about 3/8" space between the valve and the bottom of the oil tank. As the suspension is compressed the valve moves towards the oil tank. When the valve is almost touching (thickness of a flat screwdriver blade) I still have at least 1" left on the shaft of the shock.

I can't see the front inlet but it is positioned just below the frame crossmember so I suspect even if we flip the two connectors we still would not be able to run with any of the connectors facing up.

Crap... Oh well, I guess I'll have to make some kind of a skid plate. I just know I'm going to knock that fitting off one of these nights.. On a deserted country road.... In the middle of nowhere... In the rain... With midget zombies roaming the fields....
