being able to cruise at lower rpm and still stay in 5th was one of the big advantages.. I'm not a big guy and the wife is 115 lbs..but it was all 2up riding...I was wondering if the hot weather was contributing the good mileage?

You have it backwards .... it's 57 m/Imperial Gallon or 47 m/ US Gallon. A UK gallon is bigger that a US gallon so for the same number of gallons you would go further on a UK. Doc

Yes ... you are rich on the main but lean on the needle so cruising in 5th at 100 kph (you were going speed limit right

) you wold be mainly on the needle and so you should get good mileage.
