Bought a bass today... 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Latest creation by Yours Truly. I drummed it with my Alesis DM5 drum set, laid down the bass line with a bass that I bought today. (And of course, all other guitar and piano sounds and mixing accidents are all by me.) Purely experimental... Outpost 9

Hey Frank,

A good bud of mine recently acquired an 8-string bass... it produces an incredible sound. I never even knew there was such a thing! He plays it very well.

And I learned today that Les Paul invited multi-track recording!

Whoa!! I've seen 5-string basses, but never a 6, let alone, an 8-stringer.

I didn't know Les Paul created multi-track recording... Very very cool! Sorry he's gone...

Very cool. When I record I use a drum machine for meter but always end up with a live drummer for the final recording. They can change the song dramatically. Plus the human
    feel
is always good.

Very cool... I haven't used a drum machine in a while. Even though my drum kit is MIDI and USB, I'm still sitting on the stool and drumming it out with the sticks. The only difference is, I don't drive the neighbors crazy and I don't have worry about trying to mic them. The trade-off, is that the drums don't sound as good as regular acoustic setup, but I may be able to fiddle with the processing and make them a little more realistic. I've only been playing drums for about 8 months, now.
