riding clubs ??????? 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Well lately ive been getting tired of riding solo, and was thinking about riding clubs. A guy at work is a prospect in a riding club, that is a 2 patch riding club, they are known, and respected, but only accept individuals with american brands, wich is where i am excluded, I mean I can ride with them but can never join unless i had an american bike. I respect that and thats there thing, but i cant afford another bike right now, and I would love to be a part of them. Does anyone have some insight on some riding clubs that dont exclude brands, have a big following, and are legit, Possibly in Sac cal area??? thanks.

Personally I like solo riding but I did join the Patriot Guard Riders because of what they stand for. I ride occasionally with the Exodus Riders (Christian Motorcycle Association) but that's the extent of it. Usually with club membership comes dues of some sort but I'm at that stage of my riding career where I feel more comfortable doing my own thing whenever I want. JMHO.

Check out the American Legion in your area. I would bet there is an ALR (American Legion Riders) chapter near by. I am a member of PGR and ALR. I really like ALR and it goes along way towards bulding support for the American Legion.

Rolling Thunder would be another one as they to are a national club.

I'm with greyphart though in that I prefer to do my own thing. I go on rides with R/C's and M/C's quite regularly as a non-member and enjoy them, but I find I have a lot more fun when I'm blazing my own path.

Another option is to look around the web for forums/websites dedicated to riding in your area. Go to some local poker runs and charity rides and mingle with the locals. Before you know it you'll have more friends to ride with that you'll ever need. lol

Madjacker....You may be interested in the Green Knights. http://www.greenknightsmc.com/ You'd have to see if they are active in your area. They're affiliated with may military installations worldwide. I believe the only restriction is you need a military ID card.

Check out Central Valley Star Riders. They don't have a membership fee. I talked to the president at the bike show this summer @ PCP Motorsports in Elk Grove. Nice guy. He said they have riders of all ages and different makes of bikes. There is also Star153.

I usually ride solo but wouldn't mind going out every once in a while for a group ride. Hey, maybe we could start our own custom star club.

I put together a pretty big group of guys using facebook. I made a facebook group called "South Jersey Bikers" and people just started joining. I now use it to organize and manage rides. I also walk up to riders anywhere I see them and invite them to ride with us. I hate riding alone but to each his own!
