Genesis Performance Module 2 Years, 9 Months ago
I kinda feel like I am gonna get a butt whippin from you guys on this, but I was bored one night and was looking on ebay and came across this Genesis Performance Module from http://www.genesisperformancemodules.com/ So i picked it up for $30.00 in hopes that it will work atleast some what to the supposed claims. But as an F-16 Mechanic, I am not familiar with the instructions. First off, it says to lacocate my INTAKE AIR TEMP SENSOR (2 wires). If there is (4 wires) or a MAP SENSOR then i must locate my COOLANT TEMP SENSOR. Which one do we have?????? Then it says to take the black wire from the Genesis Mod and connect it to any one of the 2 wires on the bikes sensor. Then take the blue wire and connect it to the remaining sensor wire. But, it says if the machine that i am installing the mod on only has 1 sensor wire instead of 2, then I must cut the sensor wire and connect the black wire from the Genesis Performance Mod on the sensor side of the cut wire and connect the blue wire of the Genesis Mod to the other end of the cut sensor wire??????? Please help me feel stupid

I'll try to be gentle. And, I've seen those advertised on E-Bay, too.

We have an air temp. sensor. It's up by the front tree. Black plastic, has a 1" extended plastic pin. A metal lined hole on the other end (broke mine, threw a code. So I know where it is...)

Personally, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I don't think I'd start cutting up my bike without a whole lot more information on what this thing does...

Just my .02

Theres an air temp sensor on these? Your going to make me look at the clymer's manual again, aren't you? Do you guys have F.I.? If you have an 07 and older Roadie, then you don't have a intake air temp sensor or a MAP sensor. You have a carb with a throttle position sensor and a carb heater. And unless your Roadie has Honda written on the side, you don't have a coolant temp sensor, coolant, radiator, etc... Personally (just my $.02), I wouldn't ask your dealer anything about this. Unless your a comedian and like the sound of snickers.

So, this thing is a resistor. Mayby in a fancy package, but what it does, is it ''tricks'' your computer into thinking the incomming air is cooler than it really is. denser air comming in = more fuel delivered to the intake. Will it work? maybe, but doubtful. Check the resistance of the module, go to radio shack, buy a resistor for a buck and send this overpriced thing back. These types of devices are being sold for all different kinds of vehicles. I have not heard of them working on ANYTHING. Just my opinion. I fell for the same thing when I first got into the sport compact world. I ordered one for 3 or 4 bucks, the guy sent me a resistor, shipped in a regular #10 envelope. I emailed him a not so nice letter, he refunded my money.
