back firing 7 Years ago
I just installed a hypercharger on my roodie with cobra slip on pipes. I can not stop my bike from back firing on heavy decell. Any fixes out there.

You need to dial in your PMS for sure Willy. Maybe install an aftermarket needle in the carb too.

Your are too lean at idle.

Gram Thanks. After reading back I found the answer you gave some one. I think that you said that the jetting kit that comes with the Hypercharge never works. I think that I am going to either a Cobra jet kit or a Barons jet kit. Which one do you recommend.

I personally like the Baron's, but that is primarily due to familiarity.

Most folks I know, and most bikes I have jetted, have used the Baron's. I have never used the Cobra at all.

The thing I like best about the Baron's is that it comes with Mikuni brand jets, which seem to come in better (closer to what we need) steps for the Road Star.
