Tank dent 2 Years, 9 Months ago
So, I dumped over my 06 Road Star lastnight pulling out of a parking lot. Funny thing was there is no damage other than a scratch on my mirror on the side it fell on. I guess my body cushioned the blow. Bad part is I got a dent I suppose from my knee hitting the side of the tank a little smaller than a golf ball size but shallow. I tried the thing advertized on TV where you use a hot glue gun and that bar with a couple of threaded rods.......worked somewhat?? Took probably 80% of the dent out. Anyone had any luck trying something else?? The dry ice method?? HELP

CCR:

If you don't mind taking the tank off and draining the fuel out.

Try pushing the dent out from the inside. You can reach in (from the underside) pretty far with a round-end object (screwdriver, hammer handle, etc.) and press it back into shape pretty easy.

CCR, All good options from these guy's. However one more option that you should consider is "Paintess Dent Removal" They work wonders for a reasonable price...

I discovered a dent on the top of my tank when I went to pick my bike up at the dealer. They called in a Paintless Dent Removal guy, and he took care of it. You wouldnt even know it was dented. They're not very expensive either.

Will the Co2 work on a big dent in the tank?

Funny, I just dropped a set of apes on my tank tonight and dented it, and just got it back from the painter last week! I'm afraid to try the CO2 method, you try it first!
