That's hilarious! The funniest thing I've read in a long time. Everyone has to go to the link and read it! I'm almost crying here it was so funny. I work with computers and my techs just read it and now everyone is laughing. Thanks Greeny! I love the part about the nanobots professional installation team! Please make sure the toilet is unoccupied during the scheduled installation time.

I think you'll find that "user experience" is only 1/2 the reason to limit images to a minimal size. A page refresh with 10+ signatures, plus any linked photos, could take a couple of seconds.

The other 1/2 of the story is the fact that hosting costs are based on utilized bandwidth (tier structure). We'll end up costing our favorite place to hang out more $$$ if we insist on using larger photos and more bandwidth.

So, I say... If you want larger photos, send cash. Support the Site. They have PayPal.

if the image is linked offsite and 10000mb it doesn't use anymore bandwidth on the host then a 50k one.

I think you missed the point. I am suggesting links to other sites where the image is, that means putting URL /URL around the link.

I am not suggesting you put IMG /IMG around the link, then it will display the image and gobble up bandwidth and screw with the page size - so that would be bad.

As for a place to put these bigger pictures, I suggest you get a free www.gmail.com mail account - don't use, don't give out that address to anyone, but once you have it, then you can go to:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=jotspot&passive=true&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fsites.google.com%2F%3Fhl%3Den%26tab%3Dw3

which is googles free build your own web site. You don't really have to build a web site, just upload your pics, and than grab the URL links and paste them back here.

I'm glad questcap asked the question first. I was about to ask myself. Not for ridicule but all the guys at work have broadband and to even think of dial-up would get you a strange look. But just for conversation sake, I heard that Roadrunner (now Comcast in Houston, TX) has a broadband "lite". It's for people that don't use broadband for downloading mp3, videos and large picts. I've never looked into it. Has anybody heard of such, and does anybody actually have it?

I'm not sure but I think cable has always just been one speed (fast) so that must be something new. And from what I understand, cable users share whatever bandwidth is available which means if they can sell 'lite' and throttle back individual users then the others have more to use.
I have Bellsouth DSL, or AT&T or whoever they are this month, and they have 4 speed levels. Unless you download a lot of music or movies, etc. it's pretty much a waste to pay for the higher speeds. Even using one of the slower speeds my home connection is faster than what I have here at work because everyone shares it.
