Labor Day weekend 2 Years, 8 Months ago
It kind of goes without saying but please ride safe this weekend if you're going out to any events, destinations or just going out for a long ride. Traffic will have only one thing on their mind and that's to get from A to B as quick as possible! Don't need any more reports of downed members on the forum. Myself, I'm going to the Bro-in-laws place on the lake for R&R and a few cocktails. Planning on taking a scenic route (extra miles) without a lot of traffic there and back. Ride like they're all out to get you!

Some oldfella nearly ran me over this morning. He was in the turn-only lane, and I was in the thru-traffic lane. When the light changed, he decided to go straight and came up on my right, nearly sweeping me off the road. I let him know, in no uncertain terms, what I thought of his driving, as I sped up to get away from him. If he would have got closer, he would have had a dent in his fender of my 10.5" boot. Hrmph...

Whether five minutes from home or five hours, keep your head in the game, folks. Have a safe and fun weekend!

Thanks, Tom. That's pretty much the plan here, too.

(After all, this case of beer ain't gonna' drink itself!)

It would be nice to get to ride, but I don't get a chance to ride much this weekend. Some over educated moroon decided we need to work, all 3 days . The only half way good thing is Monday is triple time

We are ready to start out on a what should be a 1500 mile ride over the next week. Plan to hit Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, the Northern Redwoods in California, then take a slow trek up the Pacific coast of Oregon back to Washington State. We have a full week, so it should be a nice relaxing pace. We were going to leave today, but a small storm cell is moving through the area, so we decided to hold tight and let it pass before embarking on our tour. Believe it or not, they are calling for the possibility of snow at Crater Lake NP. I don't want to get tied up in any of the "white stuff" if I can help it! No place to put the tire chains!
