Removed my belt guards 2 Years, 8 Months ago
OK....I know this has been hashed out multiple times before. Guess I just need a little reassurance.

I removed both my upper and lower belt guards this weekend. Totally cleans up the read end.

Has anyone who has done this same mod experienced any issues?

Here's a pretty good view of it.

Thanks....greeny

I pulled both mine off 6000 miles ago and have had no issues. BTW, your bike looks great slammed.

I wonder how much more you'll have to clean your white-walls without the guards?

BTW, if they were chrome, you wouldn't want to take them off...

Didn't think about the tires. I'll have to steer clear of puddles I presume.

...and I do like chrome, just like to be nekked sometimes too!

Yep I shortened mine back to the rear mounting bolt and it does sling a little but the bags get most of it. I got dented when I had the bags lowered and hit a BIG bump.

Removed mine years ago with no problems thus far, and I hope I don't have any cause I grinded off all of the mounting tabs as well. Even removed the plastic fender extension also.

I took mine off as soon as I got the bike. The whitewalls do get a little dirty, but not to bad.

Hey eblack....are you talking about the plastic part of the rear fender that's at the very front? On my pic above, it's the portion of the fender that is showing between the arms of the swingarm.

Got any pics of your bike without that piece? I was thinking about removing it too, but wasn't sure if I would like how it would look without it. Well, guess I could always put it back on huh?

However if you got a pic, please post it.

Thanks bud....greeny
