CPORetired,
I'am 5'8" and installed 16" apes on my bike two years ago and loved it from the first ride. Like Tampa said, I don't think the OEM bars will come close to the bike again. I installed the bars on OEM risers and I like it. I had the T-Bar on before and I find the apes just as comfy as the T-bar.

Hey

I have a pair of 16" SoCal apes just installed on my Rodie. The wires are not hidden and take away from the look of the bike. The bars are not predrilled. Is there a way to make the wiring look nicer without drilling through the bars?

I sat on it, there is no way I could ever ride it except to go straight.

OK OK maybe I am just being to cheap but my penny pinching knows no bounds. Hopefully gonna get the black mini apes off Jades new 04 and wrap them in brown leather like my brake, clutch levers and lindby bar. Looking at the coin for new cables (NO DISRESPECT TO CLIFFORD INTENDED AT ALL, you give a terrific deal) but just not sure I wanna put that much out for something I may or may not like. SO THIS is my idea using the stock cables and running them straight down in front of the tank and not in front of the triple trees. If I DO like it I can then hit clifford up for the right length cables but if I don't like the apes I can just put my other bars back on. Could or WOULD this cause any problems anyone can think of or am I way off on this one?????!!!????? Thanks in advance as always guys.

I'd say get some chrome clips to pull the cables tighter to the bars. That's about the only option without going inside. Here's a super expensive example of what I'm talking about.

Can't wait for my apes to show up.
