Looking for a simple, but not junk, tach for my R* 2 Years, 5 Months ago
From scanning the posts, it seems like adding a tach is a matter of bolting it onto the bars, then yanking the gas tank and hooking up some wires on a coil. Are there other complications?

I'd love to hear feedback from people who bought lower priced models 2 or more years ago and can attest that they are still working fine. What brand did you get? Is the finish on the tach and mount holding up without rust/tarnish?

thanks

Kurt

Here's a link to the one that I have installed on my Star. Works great, finish is heavy chrome, and the light is subtle.

26k miles and counting.

Kurt,I've got the same tach that stinger showed you on e-bay. They work great. I've had mine for close to three years now. hookup is fairly simple. I soldered the connections. My.03 cents anyway hope it helps.

kurtfriedrich, I have the Pro-one 803450 and Pro-one 803150 sitting on the shelf.

If you're interested. PM me. They are both in really good shape. I put a fairing on, so these won't fit my bike anymore.

Same Tach Stinger showed , except mine was white face/black numbers. Worked great for the 10,000 miles I had it , sold it to a buddy , he's put 10 more thousand on it. I highly recommend the Kuryakyn P clamp for a clean finish. BB

I have had the Pro 1 for 10K now and use it more than my speedo. Rock solid... only draw-back is that its stamped "Made in China" on the faceplate

My brothers wifes brother sent them some genuine replica ancient Japanese evil protection wood carvings that he bought in a gift shop where he is stationed in Japan, they had stickers on the back that said 'Made in Korea' ...

Re:Looking for a simple, but not junk, tach for my 2 Years ago
Just got a Bikers Choice (inexpensive but hopefully fairly accurate tach) bike is the pole barn and it's blowing snow and about 18 F. Rather than go out and measure, does any one know what size handle bars stock 2005 R* has. I need a clamp to go around the bars to attach the tach.

Thanks
