Rev limiter??? 2 Years, 8 Months ago
|
|
What exactly are the options for doing away with the rev limiter on roadstar. I'm quite sure these engines could handle over 5000 rpm without any major engine rebuild...any imput is welcome..thanks

PUT IN A DYNA 3000 AND YOU CAN ADJUST IT TO 5000 RPM

I understand the rev limiter is set at 5000 so the valve train doesn't go haywire on you.
You need to upgrade with stiffer springs at least to get more RPMs.

The 1600 limit is 4250
1700 is 4750
5k is the most the internals can handle without possible damage anyway.
And peak HP is gonna be about 4700, 4800 unless you really soup the engine up, so going above 5k limiter is not gonna do you anything

I think a dyno 3000 also changes the timing curve which is supposed to make it run a little stronger. $300 does seem like a bit much for it, but that's on my wish list for tax return time. I've heard nothing but good about them.
