I think a dyno 3000 also changes the timing curve which is supposed to make it run a little stronger. $300 does seem like a bit much for it, but that's on my wish list for tax return time. I've heard nothing but good about them.

I put a 3000 on my 01 and it made a huge difference. before I was always bumping my head on the rev limiter accelerating through the gears. now with the limit at 5,000 rpm I never do. It just feels better (and goes faster

You always seem to find what you need on the RSC. I am putting the Dyna 3000 Barons's stock ported manifold and a Barnett Clutch plate as soon as I can get the time (probably next weekend). I am finally doing the Dyna since they have made revisions to accommodate factory installed Passing Lamps. Back to Tinkerville for me I am thinking that may current settings should be pretty close and can tweak from there. 06, at sea level, Cobra Speedster Slashdowns, BAK, 170 main, 4th groove stock washer and spacer configuration, stock pilot, and PMS about 2.5. Plugs read edge of lean for mid to high, and black around inner threads indicating a rich idle circuit, and getting some pinging in 5th gear roll ons at highway speed. I may try leaning out the PMS and watch the plugs to see if the manifold richens the mix too much. I have a friend running the same set up on an 05 with Roadhouse Duals and results have been very good. Comments on the set up are appreciated

when you say roll-on from hwy speed, exactly what speed are you at? probably will need to go to a 172.5 main

It is not consistent, may be related to gas, but it generally occurs at 70 -75 mph cruise and aggressive roll on to approximately 3/4 throttle and I will get some pinging. I am thinking with the addition of the ported manifold that it will richen the mix. When I first went to the current set up it WOT tested as somewhat lean, but with the dreaded SVS I decided to err on the side of slightly lean to too rich. My scoot runs strong and has for 29,000 miles, just can't leave it alone

Leave it alone until you get the manifold on. It may necessitate fine tuning.

I have a stock IM that I took off my 2005 R* last fall. I replaced it with the Dyna 3000 and kept the stock until I was sure I liked the results of the replacement (which I do). I understand that the 1700 stock IM bumps the 1600's rpm's to 4750 as well as other performance improvements. Anyway, if anyone is interested in the stock module, I will most likely list in in the classified. Not really sure what it's worth, but if anyone is interested, let me know, otherwise it will go in the classifieds.

Question..........

If I have a stock ignition module and my bike is dialed in just right and I go and put the Dyna IM on, will I have to make any adjustments to the carb setup? It took sooo much energy to get it right I just don't know if I could handle intentionally altering it.
