True enough BB.... I guess if you abuse any bike you'll end up with trouble. I know at least 6 others who have the Rocket and only 1 of these has had mechanical trouble, he's the one who fitted the supercharger to his 140hp to 250hp .
I find the R3T to be a very smooth bike to ride and my wife is very happy as a pillion, and it's all about keeping the boss happy isn't it

Emu......I wasn't suggesting they were junk by any means , but it Seems like a lot of the guys who bought them here in the states are dogging them something hard....... But I agree with you , anything short of an anvil will break if beat on enough. BB

Having worked on VW's for 7 years and Rolls/Bentleys for almost 5, I plan on staying away from anything German or English. But, as long as they make em, I'm guaranteed a job for life. German stuff is over engineered using the cheapest parts made and they will not believe that their stuff could ever fail (river in Egypt syndrome), and the UK stuff, well, let's just say we HAD to enter WWII for a reason. LOL. I'll take a Jap bike over English any day of the week.

I like the look of the t-bird and the radiator is hiden well between those pipes. as for the nice exhaust note, that is because the firing order is not like your typical parallel twin. normal parallel twins have both pistons rising and falling at the same time with a 360 degree firing order. carying that dead weight of the second piston each time causes some vibration and the needed balancers to smooth it out. on the americanas and now the t-bird they switched to a 270 degree firing that both smooths it out and makes it sound and run like a 90 degree v-twin. I have researched this phasing because alot of the guys running old 650 specials are now doing that to their parallel twins to smooth them out and allow quicker revs.

Thanks Jon D.... great info. Our dealer tells me they're getting some after market pipes for their demo T'bird so I'll be interested in hearing the new note.
