STR-5VP51-30-00 has a angle on the end that makes it very difficult to mount the Givi Style trunk. I have a trunk that I bought from J C Whitney and to put any thing in or take anything out you have to remove it from the mount and then put in or take out what ever you need to do. Maybe the smaller trunk would not have that problem.

I have the one that attaches to the backrest with four bolts and have had over 40lbs on it with no problems. I just wish it was a little easier to take off and on. Those 4 bolts are so close to the fender you'll say things you never wanted to say when putting it on.

Yeah, mine is the backrest-mounted type also and the lower screws are a bit tricky. Still, it only took me about 10 minutes to put it on. I was amazed the installation instructions didn't say to remove the seat, which is obvious and makes the job a bit easier. I like the way it looks, so I don't plan to remove it. In fact I'll probably start to use my travel bag for trips to the farmer's market when the wife is along.
The Saddlemen BR3400 has a gizmo that is meant to put under the seat. It is two semi-hard nylon-coated pads that have an overlap velcro connector to adjust to the width of the seat (plus a cinched safety strap). On the side edges of this pad are four snap buckles, the same type as on the Silverado saddle bags. The woven nylon retaining straps have heavy-duty spring clips on one end and a mating buckle on the other. These clip onto eyelets on the sides of the pack and snap into the under-seat pad and then tighten. I weave this pad through the rungs of the luggage rack to attach the pack to the rack. I also use two other full-loop straps to batten the center eyelet on the front of the pack around the sissy bar pad to the side braces of the rack. It ain't goin' anywhere, man.
This is just a superb sissy bar pack and they must have thought through a ton of attachment scenarios because they provide just exactly the right straps to do the job right. It also comes with backpack shoulder straps to carry it. Once all these straps are adjusted for a particular bike, you can leave them adjusted and attach the pack in a minute or so, detach even quicker. It has quite a variety of zippered expandable pockets and compartments and, of course, a rain cover (which works!). I just love the thing.
The rack was purchased at the same time as the pack, but the pack came two days later. I waited over 3 months for the rack (Yamaha back-orders, hmpfh!), so I was ecstatic when it arrived.

@ahamay, you could try putting a piece of hard foam or soft wood under the trunk that levels-out the surface for mounting your trunk. Not sure how you'd fasten it, but that's what comes to mind for me.

I used a piece of square aluminum tubing to level it out. The back rest interferes with the opening of the trunk lid. The latch plate for the trunk is all the way back and not a solid mount. I'm thinking of taking off the backrest and move the trunk forward. The trunk has a back rest built on it and the wife is used to leaning on it any way.(Came off of my FJ1200)

That's the one I'm leaning toward. It makes more sense to me to use the backrest mount, which is sturdier than the license plate bracket. Thanks for the help.
Make sure to get it here...so much cheaper than paying retail. http://www.accessories4bikes.com/product_info.php?products_id=1411

I have the rack mounted sissy bar too and you can haul way more than 10# on it. In fact I sawed off the lower part of the rack mount and mount mine with only one bolt each side. I did that so I could get the rack down as low as possible. Looks better and a bit lower. So even with just one bolt holding it per side it still will hold a fully loaded t-bag.
