Iridium Plugs... Once Again 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
Went to my local Meijer's store and bought Autolite XP4164 Iridium plugs. Price per plug is $5.99 and there is a $2 rebate per plug so I said, what the heck. Installed them as packaged... didn't gap them. I did notice a smoother idle right off the bat. My buddy installed the same plug number in his Harley Road King a couple weeks ago and noticed and increase in fuel economy on the first tank driving the same circuit to and from work for a week. Thought I would pass this on to those who were following the previous iridium plug thread.

I installed a set today also and man what a diference! I got them a Advance auto parts $6.99 each. The bike ran better right form the start.

My bike had been backfiring through the carburator lately when starting off, I only rode about 6-miles just enough to get it warm but no carb popping when taking off not once!

I'll have to weight in on the mileage later.. I did notice a little more ZIP when runin through the gears. My old plugs had some carbon on them but were not fowled.

I reccomend these plugs at this point just for the added performance.

I couldn't agree more! Seems smoother at low speeds since installing the Iridiums. I'll know more about the mileage on the next fill up.

Note in the NGK box says don't gap 'em. The electrode is so small it'll break so they come pre-gapped.

So...there are Iridium Autolite and NGK plugs that fit? Anyone know if there's any difference between the two or if they are just the same plug rebranded?

Thanks,

RK

I installed a set of NGK Iridium plugs this morning, and I love'em already. Smoother idle and better throttle response through all the gears. I'm going to fill up today and check the milage this week. I did check the gap and they were in spec (.032-.033) right out of the box. Money well spent in my opinion.
